The P&W is not only construction work, scenery making, etc. Believe it or not, one of the purposes of this layout is actually to run trains!

 

With the mainline roadbed and track installed, a couple of temporary "feeder" wires from the power pack sent the engine and some freight cars on their way around the layout.

 

Once the basic construction, roadbed, mainline track and some of the essential scenery elements were in place, Walt then concentrated on the wiring and control panel, while Phyl began to add detail to the scenery. After all, this is an age of specialization.
